Indications: glimerazine is used to lower blood sugar in the treatment of type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise are not sufficient.
Contraindications: Do not use if you:
• Are allergic to any of the ingredients.
• Have type 1 diabetes or ketoacidosis.
• Have diabetic coma or severe liver or kidney disease.
Precautions:
• Talk to your doctor if you are recovering from an injury or surgery.
• Not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age.
Low blood sugar: Glymerazine may cause low blood sugar. Avoid:
• Missing or irregular meals.
• Drinking alcohol.
• Taking excessive doses.
Treatment of low blood sugar: Eat simple sugar (such as sugar cubes) if you experience symptoms of low blood sugar. Call your doctor if symptoms persist.
Drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any other medications you are taking, as they may affect the effectiveness of glimerazine.
Dosage and method of use:
• Take glimerazine with the first meal of the day.
• Initial dose 1 mg daily, maximum 6 mg.
• If you miss a dose, do not take a double dose.
Warnings:
• Do not stop treatment without consulting your doctor.
• Contains lactose, consult your doctor if you are allergic to sugars.
